Biography

According to the U.S. Census, by 1930 the family had moved from North Carolina to Surry, Virginia. On the 1940 U.S. Census Miss Parker was living at Stony Creek in Sussex, Virginia, and she was teaching in Nansemond, Va. She had completed two years of college. On December 30, 1944, Miss Parker married Lloyd Archie Joyner in Norfolk, Virginia. She was appointed teacher in Morgantown for at least two terms, 1948-1950. On the U.S. Census in 1950, Mr. & Mrs. Joyner’s permanent residence is Philadelphia, PA.
