Lillian Mae Jeffries

Lillian Mae Jeffries was born in Page County, Virginia on May 26, 1899. Her parents were George V. and Martha Virginia Berry Jeffries.

Biography

Miss Jeffries was appointed to teach at Morgantown for the 1921-22 school year. Shortly after coming to Morgantown, Miss Jeffries, on April 12, 1923, married Robert Rossell Pinkett, son of Rev. Asbury Pinkett who pastored several churches in Virginia, including the Baptist Church in Morgantown. On the 1930 U.S. Census Lillian and Robert Rossell Pinkett are living in Pennsylvania. The 1940 U.S. Census indicates that Mrs. Pinkett completed two years of college. To date we have not located where she went to college or if she continued teaching after moving to Pennsylvania. Her husband passed away on May 24, 1962. His occupation was given as a lineman for the electric company. She passed away on July 16, 1968, at the Page Memorial Hospital in Luray, Va. She and her husband are buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
